A healthcare organization in Stockport seeks a qualified nurse to provide recovery-focused interventions for adults experiencing substance misuse issues. The role includes assessing needs, facilitating recovery, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates should have a valid nursing qualification, experience in assessing health needs, and a passion for recovery. Offering a competitive salary ranging from £31,049 to £37,796 pro rata.
Interview -Weds 26/11/25, and afternoon of Fri 28/11/25.
To work within a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate a range of recovery and abstinence focused interventions for adults presenting at accident and emergency in Stockport because of substance misuse related issues. The post holder will provide intense interventions for frequent attenders at A & E, offer rapid access to treatment for patients, monitor presentations at Stepping Hill Hospital, offer opportunistic brief intervention to patients, offer advice to staff on management of adults presenting at hospital on a frequent basis.
This will include undertaking comprehensive assessments of need, individual therapeutic interventions, recovery co-ordination and referral on to support services with a view to reducing overall attendance at A+E and subsequent in-patient admissions. The post holder will work primarily in the community service but also support Stepping Hill Hospital staff in the planned discharge of patients who have been admitted to medical and surgical wards.The post holder will provide clinical interventions supporting sustained recovery within an ambitious, inspirational and outcome focused culture promoting hope, empowerment and choice.The post holder will contribute to the services clinic responsibilities for alcohol and other substances (e.g. pre-detox bloods, support for community detoxification BBV screening, clinic room checks, medicines management commensurate with the grade).

To contribute to the provision and facilitation of a range of interventions focusing on managing individuals recovery capital and increasing their chances of achieving and sustaining abstinence. This will include psychosocial interventions, clinical interventions commensurate with the grade and under the supervision of Senior Nurses, provision of substitute medication where appropriate, support to access mutual aid and peer support networks, support to develop positive community relationships and support to access other services both substance misuse specific (e.g. rehab and community programmes) and mainstream (e.g. housing, employment, education and training.)
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
