Qualifications

• Experience dealing with the public
• Knowledge of Health and Safety
• Understanding of confidentiality in a hospital environment
• General portering knowledge
• Knowledge of NHS procedures

Responsibilities

• Provide a service to wards and departments cleaning in close proximity to beds, with due respect for patients' dignity.
• Manage cleaning schedules in line with patient and ward activity.
• Ensure all cleaning schedules are completed and checked daily.
• Provide emergency and ad hoc cleaning as required.
• Undertake manual and mechanical cleaning activities in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
• Comply with methods of cleaning required for areas.
• Work safely at all times giving due consideration to themselves and others.
• Check and observe cleaning to be carried out in accordance with schedule.
