Woking and Sam Beare Hospice In Patient Unit is looking fora passionate dynamic and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join ourincredible team.

Here at the hospice, we pride ourselves on givingexceptionally high standards of care to patients and their families throughsome of the most challenging times of their lives. In our IPU, in their ownhomes and in our Wellbeing Centre. Our charity-based service specialises inpalliative and end of life care for patients with complex life limitingillnesses who live in the North-West Surrey area.

In addition to the wonderful environment, we have a keenfocus on education and development. Our education team support excellenttraining sessions taught by our in-house experts. Furthermore, our staff areencouraged and supported to increase their professional skills through coursesand university modules.

A successful Health Care Assistant will be:

  • Caring and compassionate
  • Willing to develop their knowledge and skills
  • Experience of palliative care is desirable it is not essential as we can offer support through our training and development programme
  • To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A successful candidate will have:

  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship. We are unable to offer sponsorship or visa assistance for this position.
  • Willingness to work towards Care Certificate or NVQ 3 (QCF Level 3 or equivalent)

To work under the direction of aRegistered Nurse both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team todeliver holistic, high quality care to palliative and end of life carepatients, their carers and relatives in the Community and /or on our InpatientUnit.

To participate in a seven day perweek operational service at the moment we are recruiting for day shifts only.

  • Experience of working in a multi disciplinary team.

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people.
Qualifications
  • Care Certificate, NVQ 3 (QCF level 3 or equivalent)
