Job summary

Argyll and Bute Council is seeking a Horticultural Mechanic based in Oban to maintain and repair grounds maintenance machinery and to manage the stores receipting/recording. You will travel between various locations within Argyll and Bute to meet operational needs.

The role also includes inspecting council-run children's play park equipment, performing driving duties within Amenity Services, and taking part in emergency responses and standby duties as required.

A vacancy has arisen for a Horticultural Mechanic working for Argyll and Bute Council. You will be based in Oban, however you will be expected to travel between various work locations within Argyll and Bute to meet the Operational requirements of the Service.

The successful candidate will undertake the maintenance and repair of grounds maintenance machinery and equipment. The receipting/recording of grounds maintenance stores. When required, to carry out other grounds maintenance duties.

To undertake scheduled inspections of Argyll & Bute Council run Children's Play Park equipment, submitting the required reports and undertaking subsequent actions following established processes and procedures as required.

To undertake driving duties within Amenity Services section as required and to participate in emergency situation responses and standby duties as required.
