We’re looking for a proactive and compassionate Homelessness Prevention Officer to join our client's busy Housing Options and Temporary Accommodation team and make a real difference in people’s lives.

Overview

Location: Oaklands Rd, Haywards Heath RH16 1SS

Hours: 37.5 (2 days in office)

Contract: Temporary for 3 months

Candidate Rate £26-30 umbrella

Interviews are scheduled for 03.11.2025

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored housing advice to individuals at risk of homelessness
  • Assess housing needs and develop prevention plans under the Homelessness Reduction Act
  • Respond to Duty to Refer cases and work with housing associations to prevent evictions
  • Support access to private rented accommodation and manage affordability assessments
  • Investigate illegal evictions and liaise with legal teams and enforcement agencies
  • Build partnerships with external agencies to ensure holistic support
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service improvement
What We’re Looking For
  • It is essential that you possess a Full UK Driving License
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation and homelessness prevention
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals and multi-agency teams
