Job description

I am looking for a manager for a lovely children's home in Swindon. The role comes with an excellent salary, great benefits and the opportunity to wok for an organisation that truly values it's staff as well. I am seeking someone who currently is a registered Manager or Deputy who has experience of leading a home with confidence and care.

Roles and responsibilities

The Registered Manager will play a vital role in shaping the culture and success of the home.

  • Leading rota management and staff supervision.
  • Supporting the development and wellbeing of your team.
  • Overseeing care plans and striving for the best possible outcomes for each young person.
  • Embedding the9 Quality Standards into everyday practice.
  • Applying your knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Building strong relationships with external agencies and advocating effectively when needed.
  • Celebrating achievements for the children and the team.
  • Managing the home's budget and spending responsibly.
  • Handling administrative duties and report writing with confidence.
  • Leading safeguarding practices in line with company policies and regulatory expectations.
To be considered for this role you will need:
  • At least 2 years' experience (within the last 5 years) in a role relevant to residential childcare.
  • Proven experience in setting up a new children's home.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage the home effectively while delivering high-quality care.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England), or an equivalent qualification.
