About the Role

Part time, make a real difference as a Home Care Worker with Alcedo Care in Workington and surrounding areas: West Cumbria including Workington, Whitehaven, and Cockermouth.

We offer excellent rates of pay (£13.40 to £15.25 per hour) with pension and holiday pay. We are a top 20 rated home care group for six years running and award‑winning.

Responsibilities

As a Home Care Worker, you'll support people of all ages with:

• Personal care (washing, dressing, continence support)
• Medication and meal preparation
• Household tasks and daily routines
• Encouraging independence and providing companionship

Categories of Care

• Complex Care – supporting individuals with conditions such as spinal injuries, neurological disorders, and respiratory needs. Training includes tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, postural support, and more.
• Children's Support – providing personal care, emotional support, and daily assistance for children and young people with complex needs.
• Mental Health Support – offering practical and emotional support to help individuals manage routines, reduce isolation, and build confidence.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including alternate weekends.
• Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references required.
• For Complex Care, Children's or Mental Health duties we require at least 6 months' hands‑on UK care experience.

Pay

£13.40 to £15.25 per hour (GBP). Rates broken down by client categories: Domiciliary £13.40‑£13.90; Complex £14.75‑£15.25. Plus pension and holiday pay, equating to a rolled‑up pay rate of £17.03‑£17.70.
