Job summary

Helping Hands is seeking a Care Assistant to provide warm, in-home support for clients in Stalybridge. You’ll help people live independently, stay safe, and feel truly cared for, with training and ongoing support.

No prior care experience is required—kindness, reliability, and a people-first approach matter most. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are preferred, with flexible shifts and a competitive pay of £15.55 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, meaningful companionship to customers in their own homes.
• Support with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with mobility needs, helping customers stay safe and confident.
• Oversee and administer medication in line with care plans.
• Help with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and meal preparation.
• Run essential errands, from food shopping to collecting prescriptions.
• Offer calm, considerate support that helps customers feel truly cared for.
