Job summary

Principal People has partnered with an established rehabilitation charity to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor. This is a home-based role with site visits around the North of England, offering autonomy and a strong work-life balance.

You will help sites prepare for external audits and maintain high safety standards. Reporting to the National Health and Safety Manager, you will join a dedicated safety team focused on ensuring compliant processes, regular reporting, and effective incident

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work remotely and autonomously.
• Previous experience in charity/care/NHS/local government/support services is highly desirable.
• Understanding or experience of auditing and management systems.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites around the Northern region.

Responsibilities

• Visit sites around the Northern region approx. twice a month for ISO 45001 audit prep.
• Provide health and safety guidance to management and staff via site visits and remote support.
• Ensure all H&S processes and policies comply with legislation, best practice and strategy.
• Review safety reporting and provide regular management reports with improvement recommendations.
• Monitor incidents and support investigations where appropriate.
