Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is recruiting a Consultant Social Worker for the Specialist Hoarding Service to support adults with hoarding behaviours and self-neglect. You will help develop pathways, provide expert assessments and work with partners across Adult Social Care, safeguarding, housing and health services.

You will apply trauma-informed, strengths-based practice and contribute to service development, risk management and training for practitioners across Staffordshire.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification and Social Work England registration.
• Experience working with adults with complex needs in social care.
• Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005; safeguarding practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice on hoarding and self-neglect cases, assessing risk and planning interventions.
• Promote strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centred practice.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to manage risk and coordinate responses.
• Deliver training, guidance and resources to promote consistent practice.
• Support service development, evaluation and pathways for the Specialist Hoarding Service.
