Job summary

Boston Rose Limited in Southampton is partnering with a specialist engineering training provider to recruit a BTEC/HNC Mechanical Engineering Tutor. You will deliver BTEC Level 3 and HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering programmes to apprentices and adult learners, covering core engineering theory and practical units.

You will assess progress, support learners from Level 3 to Level 4, and contribute to curriculum development while maintaining high standards of teaching and learner outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS or equivalent).
• Experience delivering BTEC Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Experience teaching HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering units.
• Strong knowledge of subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Mechanical Principles, Engineering Design, Engineering Science, Engineering Projects.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver BTEC Level 3 and HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering units to apprentices and adult learners.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Deliver a range of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mathematics units.
• Support curriculum development and contribute to course design.

BTEC/HNC Mechanical Engineering Tutor

Boston Rose are working with a specialist engineering training provider in Southampton to recruit a BTEC/HNC Mechanical Engineering Tutor.

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer who has delivered BTEC Level 3 and HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering programmes and is confident teaching higher-level engineering theory to apprentices and adult learners.

You'll be delivering a range of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mathematics units, supporting learners from Level 3 through to Level 4 and helping them achieve outstanding outcomes. The role involves lesson delivery, assessment, learner progress monitoring and curriculum development.

What we're looking for:

• Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Level 5 Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS or equivalent)
• Experience delivering BTEC Mechanical Engineering programmes

The package:

• Salary up to £40,000
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

• Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:15pm
• Friday 8:00am - 3:05pm

Please note that this position requires previous teaching experience within Further Education or Higher Education. Unfortunately, candidates coming directly from industry without teaching experience will not be considered.
