Mitie Care & Custody (C&C) is driven by a bold vision: to establish HMP Millsike as a place of restoration and rehabilitation, where prisoners can unlock their full potential and make meaningful, positive changes in their lives. We are excited by the opportunity Millsike presents: a blank canvas on which we can paint a bright future for our prisoners. Our mission is clear: to create an environment that empowers, inspires, and supports individuals to re-enter society with hope, purpose, and a life plan. To achieve this, we will set a culture of rehabilitation and restoration underpinned by integrity and high expectations. Prisoners will experience a dramatic shift from traditional prison environments. Millsike will be a vibrant, bustling community, teeming with industry, activity and opportunities for personal growth. Above all, we will ensure our approach offers a deep sense of safety/respect, through a supportive, uplifting environment, that helps prisoners to see their potential and that unlocks a brighter future for all.
You will continue to develop and implement the Health, Safety and Environment strategy for the Prison ensuring all Mitie procedures and Prison requirements are met. You will provide support for the Prison management team to achieve highest QHSE standards and will optimise the HSE structure in I&J and the wider Mitie, by adopting strong processes to help the businesses obtain their targeted results and embed a positive health and safety culture. You will be a part of the development of the HSE workstream - providing coaching and mentoring to the prison team. You will represent HSE as part of the senior management team. You will have input and manage the Risk, Assurance and Compliance of the Prison. You will have responsibility for providing an excellent Client facing HSE service to the Business. You will also have responsibility for delivering a Quality and risk management service that promotes continual improvement and a culture of compliance. You will be coordinating the Prison Fire Safety management system including the organisation of Fire Risk Assessments.
We are looking for motivated, caring individuals who want to be part of our team that will play their part in the Government's drive to cut reoffending through effective rehabilitation; enabling offenders to turn their lives around for good. We will provide a safe, secure environment at HMP Millsike, thus providing reassurance to the public and victims of crime that perpetrators are serving a secure sentence for their crimes.
Attention to detail but ability to see the bigger picture. Flexible, adaptable and ability to travel on an occasional basis.
