HLTA - KS2 Interventions & Learning Support

Full-Time | Long-Term | November 2025 Start
Location: Rochester, Kent

Academics Rochester is working closely with a supportive primary school in Rochester to recruit a skilled HLTA to deliver focused small group interventions and provide targeted learning support to Key Stage 2 pupils, including those with additional educational and emotional needs. This role is ideal for someone who can offer consistent, compassionate support while helping pupils overcome daily challenges and make meaningful progress in both their learning and confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering small group and 1:1 interventions across KS2, particularly in literacy, numeracy, and social/emotional skills
  • Supporting pupils who require additional guidance to access the curriculum
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to plan, deliver and review support strategies
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting interventions accordingly
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds HLTA status or an equivalent qualification
  • Has proven experience delivering interventions and supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH
  • Confident in supporting learning across the KS2 curriculum
  • Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Able to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
