Are you an experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) seeking a rewarding role where you can positively impact learning across a vibrant primary school? A mainstream friendly and inclusive primary school, forward‑thinking and supportive school in Haringey is looking for a dedicated and skilled HLTA to join our enthusiastic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across Key Stages 1 providing invaluable support to teachers and students.

Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to plan, deliver, and evaluate learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils.
  • Lead learning activities for whole classes, covering teacher PPA time, absence, and targeted interventions.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring their full access to the curriculum and promoting their progress.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to small groups and individual pupils, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social‑emotional development.
  • Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers.
  • Support the wider school ethos and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervise pupils during non‑teaching times, such as break times and lunchtimes.
Qualifications
  • Holds a relevant HLTA qualification (or is working towards it).
  • Has significant experience working with primary school‑aged children across different year groups.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Is confident in leading whole class teaching and delivering targeted interventions.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Is proactive, flexible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Is committed to the inclusion of all pupils and has a passion for supporting their individual needs.
  • Has a positive and enthusiastic approach to their work.
