Overview

Join Team Watermore as a full time, permanent Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). We are looking to appoint a dedicated and adaptable HLTA to join our team from January 2026, helping us build additional capacity across the school. Located in the village of Frampton Cotterell, on the edge of Bristol, Watermore Primary School is a two-form entry school committed to providing high-quality education in a nurturing, inclusive environment. Our staff work closely in year group teams, sharing planning, ideas and resources to deliver engaging learning experiences for all pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Teach whole classes across the primary age range to cover teacher training or staff absence.
  • Plan and deliver sessions for small groups of pupils.
  • Support individual children with EHCPs when regular staff are in training or unavailable.
Qualifications and experience
  • A good standard of general education, including English and maths skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2.
  • An HLTA qualification at NVQ Level 3.
  • Experience of working with primary-aged children, ideally including teaching whole classes.
Other details
  • This is a highly flexible position where no two weeks will be the same. You’ll need to thrive in a dynamic environment and be ready to adapt plans at short notice to support the smooth running of the school.
  • You will be required to work 8:30-4pm term time, allowing time to consult with staff and understand teaching requirements for individual classes.
