Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years direct HIU service experience.
• Part P and Part G certifications are required.
• Strong knowledge of heat networks, energy centres and plant rooms.
• Ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs).
• Competent in mechanical/electrical safe isolation.
• Full UK Driving Licence held for a minimum of 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive servicing of HIUs from multiple manufacturers.
• Diagnose faults, perform first-time fixes and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Manage site-based project works and assist with regular PPM checks in commercial plant rooms.
• Participate in a structured on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) for emergency callouts.

Are you an experienced HIU specialist looking to join an innovative leader in low-carbon district energy and take the next step into a senior, mentoring role?

A Specialist Renewable EnergyConsultancy is expanding its operations and seeking a dependable HIU Senior Engineer to cover London and the South of the UK. This is a pivotal role within a highly supportive operations team, offering the chance to maintain complex heat networks and play a direct role in major city-scale decarbonisation projects.

The Opportunity:

• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive servicing of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) across various manufacturers.
  
• Diagnosing complex faults, executing first-time fixes, and conducting root-cause analysis to resolve operational issues.
  
• Managing site-based project works and assisting with 1-to-12 monthly mechanical PPM checks within commercial plant rooms.
  
• Participating in a structured on-call rota (1 week in 4) to execute emergency callouts and reinstate heat securely.

• Base salary of £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE) plus a discretionary performance bonus.

Technical Essentials

• Mandatory: Minimum of 3 years direct experience working as an HIU Service Engineer.
  
• Compliance Expert: Part P and Part G certifications.
  
• System Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of heat network energy centres, plant rooms, and ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs).
  
• Safety: Competency in mechanical and electrical safe isolation.
  
• Mobility: Full UK Driving License held for a minimum of 12 months.
