TeacherActive is recruiting qualified History Teachers for day-to-day supply and long-term contracts across Bristol, Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire from September 2026. You will plan and deliver inclusive History lessons, assess progress and contribute to the wider life of the school.

TeacherActive is currently recruiting experienced and qualified History Teachers for day-to-day supply teaching and long-term contract opportunities across Bristol, Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to bring History to life by evaluating evidence, building chronological understanding and developing well-reasoned arguments. You will plan and deliver inclusive lessons, assess progress effectively and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.

Opportunities will be available from September 2026 and may range from individual day-to-day bookings to long-term contracts providing greater continuity within one school.

The successful qualified History Teacher will have:

• QTS with History specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)


• Experience teaching History up to Key Stage 4 / KS4


• Excellent classroom and behaviour management


• Strong communication, planning and assessment skills
