Job Title: History Teacher
Location: Leicester
Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

GSL Education is working with a well-respected secondary school in Leicester to find a motivated History Teacher who can bring the past to life for students and foster a deep understanding of historical events and their significance.

About the Role:

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover a wide range of historical periods and themes to students aged 11-16. Your lessons will encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, helping students develop a strong understanding of historical contexts and their relevance to the present day. You will also assess student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s history curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons in history, aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Inspire students to explore and analyse historical events, figures, and movements.
  • Assess and track student progress, offering constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Work closely with the History department to enhance curriculum offerings and teaching strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and critical thinking.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in History or a related field.
  • Experience teaching History at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A commitment to professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
  • Competitive salary ranging from £31,650 to £46,525 per annum, based on experience.
