Job summary

Bath Spa University seeks a dedicated Gardener based at Newton Park, Bath. You will join the Estates & Services grounds team to carry out routine seasonal garden and estate maintenance using a range of machinery.

Duties include shrub and lawn care, borders, woodland areas, parkland, hedge work, and assisting with renovations to lawns and sports pitches. You will work outdoors in all weather and adhere to health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• RHS Level 1, BTEC First Diploma, or similar.
• Experience in amenity horticulture or grounds maintenance work.
• A full UK manual driving licence is required.
• Previous experience in a historic garden.
• Some plant identification skills.
• Experience of horticultural machinery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain borders, woodland areas and parkland across campus.
• Operate garden machinery and perform routine maintenance.
• Assist with lawn, hedge and arboretum care and sports pitches renovation.
• Follow Health and Safety policies and keep accurate records.
