National Trust in Belton House is seeking a meticulous Collections Assistant to help maintain and protect the house's valuable objects, textiles and furniture. You will monitor environmental conditions, keep detailed records, and support volunteers while engaging with visitors about the collections and activities taking place.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and delivering high-quality service in a historic setting, with opportunities to learn and grow within a dedicated housekeeping

Qualifications

• Good hand-to-eye skills.
• Comfortable working from ladders or scaffold towers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day cleaning and care of the historic collections (objects, works of art, textiles and furniture).
• Monitor environmental conditions in rooms and notice signs of wear or damage.
• Keep accurate records of care activities and collections details.
• Support Collections and House volunteers as needed.
• Talk to visitors about the work and collections you help look after.
