Job summary

Synnovis is seeking an Associate Practitioner for the Histopathology department in London. The role involves processing surgical specimens, embedding, microtomy, and special stains, with support from Biomedical Scientists.

You will rotate through routine and specialised histology sections, liaising with consultants and clinicians to ensure timely, high-quality diagnostic service while supporting HCPC registration and portfolio development where possible.

Qualifications

• A- levels or equivalent including science.
• IBMS accredited degree in Biomedical Science.
• Previous employment in a relevant scientific or medical laboratory at MLA level.
• Proven experience in a relevant laboratory.
• Good communication skills, both written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Data entry and initial acceptance checks on specimens as directed.
• Embed, microtomy and apply special stains following training.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and reagent management.
• Liaise with consultant pathologists and clinicians to deliver a professional diagnostic service.
• Rotate through routine histology and Advanced Diagnostics sections.
