Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a proactive Hire & Sales Coordinator to join our Plant & Tool division in a fast-paced depot environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, handling hires, logistics and queries to keep operations running smoothly.

• Experience on a high-volume hire desk or similar fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service with a sales focus.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Able to use Outlook and Excel effectively.
• Able to work in a team or alone with initiative.
• Experience in plant & tool hire is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Managing incoming and outgoing hires per day across plant and tool equipment.
• Processing hire desk administration and handling customer and supplier queries.
• Ensuring stock levels meet demand and identifying opportunities to maximise sales.
• Coordinating with drivers and fitters for timely deliveries and collections.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Processing hire desk administration and handling customer and supplier queries with speed and accuracy
• Ensuring stock levels meet demand and identifying opportunities to maximise sales
• Coordinating with drivers and fitters to ensure timely deliveries and collections
• Resolving customer complaints and supplier issues with professionalism and efficiency

About You

What You’ll Bring

• Ideally proven experience in a high‑volume hire desk or similar fast‑paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills with a commercial edge and a drive to increase sales
• Strong communication and organisational skills with great attention to detail
• Confident IT skills, including Outlook and Excel
• A team player who can also work independently and use their initiative
• Experience in the plant & tool hire industry is a bonus—but if you’ve got the passion and willingness to learn, we’ll support you every step of the way
