Overview

CAD Technician - Highway Design

Location: Hampshire (Near Farnborough)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 | Permanent, Full-time

I'm working with a well-established transport and highways consultancy looking for a CAD Technician to join their design team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a wide range of highway and infrastructure projects across the UK, including new roads, streetscape improvements, and highway schemes.

Responsibilities

• As a CAD Technician, assist in producing highway designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications to local and national standards.
• Support the delivery of projects from feasibility and design through to construction, liaising with utility providers, Local Highway Authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Help prepare reports, cost estimates, schedules, and other technical documentation, working closely with senior engineers to support programme and financial reporting.

About You / Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in highway design within a consultancy environment
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to work accurately with numbers and spreadsheets
• Confident written and verbal communication skills, with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated, professional, and able to manage your own workload effectively
• Hold a valid UK driving licence
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in AutoCAD for highways design
  • Working knowledge of ARCADY, PICADY, and LINSIG
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office
