Job summary

Esh Group in Bowburn seeks a Highways Facilitator to support the Frameworks Project and Streetworks Co-ordinator, providing site and office support to ensure timely coordination and compliance with highway works for Northumbrian Water.

You will liaise with local authorities, utility companies, and contractors, manage permits and traffic management, monitor works to meet schedules, and contribute to health and safety and ongoing development within the team.

Qualifications

• Occupational experience in construction environment.
• UK driving license - essential.
• Street works qualification - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Streetworks activities and broader team.
• Submit permit applications within required timeframes.
• Monitor ongoing works for safety, schedules and permits.
• Liaise with authorities, utilities and contractors to schedule works.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate traffic management to minimise disruption and ensure safety.
• Attend site meetings to discuss TM and permits with Local Authorities.
• Handle FPNs and resolve non-compliance including Section 74 fines.
• Ensure statutory regulation compliance with Site/Project Managers and Supervisors.
• Monitor quality and compliance, produce monthly/weekly reports as needed.
• Perform general administration and update corporate systems.
• Provide holiday cover for other roles; partake in weekend rota (1/6).
• Promote best practices in street works and participate in training.
