A leading engineering firm in Gloucester is seeking a Site Supervisor to support the Gloucestershire County Council contract. The role involves overseeing highways construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, and maintaining high safety standards. You will join our Site Supervision team in Gloucester, right at the start of WSPs long‑term professional services contract for Gloucestershire County Council (GCC). Under this collaborative contract we are based in the client’s office, directly support our client’s officers and share a set of delivery objectives. Your time will be split between working is Shire Hall, Gloucester, on construction sites or in site offices.
You will work within a team of established professionals with an in‑depth knowledge and understanding of the management of highways related construction in the county. You will be further supported by colleagues from across WSP who provide additional resources and specialist expertise to deliver high quality services.
GCC is committing considerable investment in maintaining and improving their highways network. This has increased in 2025/26 with additional investment in bridges and geotechnical programmes. In addition to the annual programme of construction projects, the Council has been very successful in securing Government and other funding to deliver active travel and major projects across the county. Your team is heavily involved in the construction of the Gloucestershire Cycle Spine which provides the challenge of working in some constrained city locations, and the upcoming M5 Junction 10 which is a £250m investment in infrastructure to support growth.
You will play a vital role by discharging the duties or Supervisor under the NEC Contract. You will use your construction knowledge to verify that work is delivered in accordance with the design and specification. You will work alongside the NEC Project Manager to notify Defects, raise Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
