  • Financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets.
  • Full UK driving license.

Overview

Highways Maintenance Manager. To 55k. Our client, a leading name in infrastructure and highway services, is seeking an experienced and driven Highways Maintenance Manager to join their senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of vital highways maintenance services across North Somerset.

The Role

As Highways Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for the operational delivery of our client's cyclical and reactive maintenance contract. Leading multiple service teams, you'll ensure smooth delivery across winter maintenance, drainage cleansing, emergency response, signage, line marking and more. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll champion a culture of safety, quality and innovation driving service excellence and building strong client relationships at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the efficient delivery of highways maintenance operations, ensuring all service targets and KPIs are met.

About You

Essential:

  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience managing teams and subcontractors.
  • Solid understanding of highways legislation, including the Highways Act 1980 and CDM regulations.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • IOSH / NEBOSH / CSCS or SMSTS qualifications.
  • Experience in local authority contract management.
  • Relevant sector scheme or winter service qualifications.
