Amey Ltd in Glasgow is recruiting a Highways Inspector to join the NMC South West team at Polmadie. The role blends site inspections with office work, focusing on highway safety, asset data accuracy and programme delivery within Transport Scotland partnerships.

You’ll develop skills across asset management, digital surveying and inspection planning. You will work with experienced professionals in a busy operations environment, benefiting from structured training, mentoring and clear career

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work across site and office locations as required.
• Personal Highway Safety (PHS) certification.
• Experience using GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS or similar systems.
• Experience within highways, infrastructure or asset management.
• Relevant professional membership.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out highway safety and comprehensive inspections in line with industry standards and codes of practice.
• Identifying, recording and reporting defects to help keep road users and pedestrians safe.
• Collecting and maintaining highway asset data using GIS and other digital systems.
• Producing accurate inspection records, reports and supporting documentation.
• Assisting with surveys, investigations and asset management activities.
• Supporting the planning and delivery of inspection programmes.
• Working in accordance with health, safety and environmental requirements at all times.
