Job summary

Your World, London Borough of Havering Romford recruitment for Highways Officer (Agreements and Compliance) within the Highways, Traffic and Parking service, offers a 3-month contract with 36 hours/week at £20.92/hour PAYE. The role focuses on licensing, enforcement, compliance and third-party highway applications.

The successful candidate will investigate breaches, manage applications and liaise with residents, developers and contractors to ensure highway standards and EV charging initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in highways, traffic or parking enforcement.
• Knowledge of Highways Act 1980 and related legislation.
• Experience assessing or enforcing highway compliance.
• EV charging installation knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigate breaches of the Highways Act 1980 and related legislation.
• Carry out highways enforcement & take action against non-compliance.
• Issue warnings and Fixed Penalty Notices where required.
• Assess and process highway licences and third-party agreements.
• Manage crossovers and EV charging solution applications.
• Inspect sites and coordinate works after approvals.
• Provide guidance to residents, developers and council officers.
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with legislation.
• Manage multiple applications and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
• Be flexible to work outside normal hours.
