This full-time, locum position offers an attractive hourly rate of £30.48.

What you will do
  • Serve as the highway authority’s statutory consultee, offering expert advice and written responses on highway planning and development matters.
  • Prepare and manage legal agreements for development sites, including managing Sections 38, 278, and 116 agreements under the Highways Act 1980.
  • Provide insights and highway advice during planning committees as required.
  • Handle highway adoption records while managing street naming and numbering.
  • Supervise development works compliance alongside the Highways Unadopted New Development Officer.
  • Assist the Council’s response to emergency incidents, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Develop innovative solutions and contribute to policy development.
  • Maximise service income through grants and bids with strategic thinking.
  • Deliver high-quality customer care and maintain data standards to meet Council’s objectives.
  • Provide support for the Transport, Highways and Engineering Strategic Manager as needed.
  • Collaborate in establishing a commercially-focused service benefitting the wider Streetscene service.
