Job description

We are looking to recruit an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work with Older Adults presenting with communication difficulties and dysphagia within the Slough and Bracknell OPMH Community Services. The teams support patients with both dementia and functional mental health difficulties.

You will need to provide specialist clinical advice and support regarding communication, differential diagnosis assessment & dysphagia, as well as develop related treatment plans for our patients. SLT intervention will be in conjunction with other Care pathways and treatment provided.

We are friendly, dynamic and supportive teams, and you will have the opportunity to work across two very diverse localities. Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust offers Mobile working and you will have access to agile working opportunities. You will be actively encouraged to develop in your role within the team, and have regular access to supervision, training and peer support in your role.

Responsibilities
  • Providing assessment, advice and support to patients with communication difficulties that are currently open to the service (one to one and in groups). Developing, monitoring and reviewing related treatment plans.
  • Working closely with and supporting colleagues within the MDT, providing specialist advice and support around communication and/or swallowing issue.
