Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

This is a temporary role for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist at Badby Park Neurological Centre in Daventry. The successful candidate will lead group therapeutic sessions, build one-to-one rapport with service users, and have experience in managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia. They will also have specialist knowledge in the areas of neurological patients.

Main duties of the job

As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for leading group therapeutic sessions, helping people develop and improve their speech and communication. You will build one-to-one rapport with service users, encouraging engagement and empowering recovery. You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. You will also be undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments.

As a Speech and Language Therapist you will be:

  • Demonstrating specialist skills in dealing with complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management.
  • Undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments.
  • Specialist knowledge in the areas of neurological patients.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
  • Experience of working with families

Where you will be working

Location: Badby Road West,Daventry, Northamptonshire,NN11 4NH

You will be working at Badby Park, a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries.

You will work alongside side the multidisciplinary and clinical teams to deliver truly person-centred services where each individual is at the heart of everything. The service has extensive facilities to cater for specific needs for people over 18 years old, who have complex neurological care and rehabilitation requirements
