Job summary

A leading health service provider in Manchester is seeking a Band 8A Practitioner Psychologist to deliver high-quality psychological care. Candidates will work within a multidisciplinary team in various settings and have opportunities for professional development. Qualifications

Job description
A Vacancy at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

  • Band 7 preceptorship can be considered for less experienced candidates

Role will equally suit candidates interested in gaining valuable early career experience in preceptorship roles (Band 7) and more experienced candidates commencing in highly specialist roles (Band 8A). Post will be embedded within Renal Care medical/surgical MDTs, working alongside a wide range of professionals (including practitioner psychology/counselling colleagues) in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Some opportunities to work from home may be feasible with discussion.

Provision of high quality, evidence‑based psychological care to patients and their families and carers of respective medical/surgical speciality.

Support the ongoing improvement of psychological pathways in speciality.

Provision of consultation, training and supervision to MDT colleagues around issues pertaining to psychological models of working such as stepped care and trauma informed practice.

Working autonomously with an appropriate clinical caseload.

Research, service development and project work.

Opportunities to develop additional competencies/undertake CPD and professional training in keeping with yearly appraisal/service needs as well as objectives of the wider physical health psychological services across Greater Manchester.
