Highly Specialist Physiotherapist - Peterborough

Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist Full time- 28.5 hours

Band 7 Fixed term 8 months maternity leave cover

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and dynamic physiotherapist to join our expanding paediatric physiotherapy team at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, to support our Paediatric musculoskeletal and orthopaedic Physiotherapy service. You should be forward thinking, dynamic, and have the desire to develop and improve the service further.

At North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (includes Peterborough, Stamford and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals) we strive to make a difference to patient's health and wellbeing. We provide paediatric physiotherapy within a variety of acute clinical settings including MSK, respiratory, orthopaedic and neonatal.

The post holder will be expected to carry a caseload of complex patients across paediatric specialties in a variety of settings, including clinics, wards, and assessment units. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to participate in service development, clinical audit, provide clinical leadership and peer support. It is essential to have recently worked in a paediatric therapy musculoskeletal environment and to have senior experience of working in the NHS.

Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively.

Main duties of the job

The Highly Specialist physiotherapist working with the Paediatric Therapy Team develops the quality of the clinical service and staff that deliver it. The post holder will work using an enhanced level of practice applying specialist knowledge and skills in the field of paediatric musculoskeletal and orthopaedics. They will assess and treat a specialist complex caseload of patients and make clinical decisions for treatment plans including Ponseti treatment and management of clubfoot.

They will act as the profession specific lead to support the training and development of the clinical staff within the Paediatric therapy team and wider multidisciplinary team. To lead on service development, clinical audit and assist in research initiatives to deliver on best practice evidence-based care in line with trust and national priorities. They will be responsible for the delivery of key quality performance indicators linked to providing high quality care.

Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registered
  • Evidence of post graduate training/qualification relevant to clinical area - Orthopaedic paediatrics, including Ponseti treatment
  • CSP member
  • Member of CSP Specialist section - APCP
Experience
  • NHS experience working at senior level
  • Extensive clinical experience within paediatrics / musculoskeletal / orthopaedics including Ponseti training and experience
  • Experience of multi-disciplinary working
  • Demonstrate active involvement in the audit process
  • Experience of change management
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring junior members of staff and pre-registration students
  • Experience of developing staff and sharing knowledge
