Qualifications

Walsall CAMHS - 22.5 hours a week (8b Post). This post is based in Walsall CAMHS, with potential to cover and support in other areas of the Black Country.

Exciting opportunities are happening within Walsall CAMHS. As a clinical team we have redesigned and restructured our services to provide evidence-based practice and care in the most suitable way. We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 8b Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join us within Walsall CAMHS. We are looking for an ACP registered, qualified Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to deliver psychoanalytic psychotherapy treatment. They will support fellow psychotherapy colleagues within Walsall CAMHS and, as required, across the Black Country.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual with the ability to integrate their current skills in this context. Important qualities include good communication, working co-operatively and thinking creatively. They must have the skills to lead, reflect and manage some complex situations.

  • Deliver psychoanalytic psychotherapy treatment as a Band 8b Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist.
  • Support fellow psychotherapy colleagues within Walsall CAMHS and, as required, across the Black Country.
  • Lead, reflect and manage some complex situations; adapt and apply current skills in the CAMHS context.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, specialist nurses, family therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists.
  • Contribute to the ongoing redesign and development of services to ensure evidence-based practice and high-quality care.

CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, specialist nurses, family therapists, play therapists, occupational therapists, social workers and psychiatrists, who are passionate about working with children, young people and their families to develop creative solutions to improve mental health difficulties. BCHFT CAMHS operates across four geographical areas (Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton) with contracts in each area. Each team includes a specialist learning disability team and dedicated teams for Children and Young People in Care.
