Job summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Highly Specialist Dietitian to join our CAMHS team, with a strong background in working with Children and Young People experiencing Eating Disorders. Main duties

The post holder will provide a responsive highly specialist service to young people with a mental health disorder receiving community input within CTMUHB Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The overall aim is to provide Dietetic expertise, intervention and consultation, as part of the Community Services.

Welsh language

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This does not mean essential; while the candidate does not need Welsh skills, it will be advantageous when short-listing and selecting candidates. This is not full fluency, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential

  • BSc Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent
  • MSc or equivalent level of knowledge and postgraduate training/experience in specialist clinical dietetics
  • HCPC registration
  • Detailed specialist knowledge of dietetic treatment for mental health disorders, including Eating Disorders
  • Specialist knowledge of how mental health disorders affect nutritional needs and management of dietetic intervention
  • Knowledge of audit and research application to dietetic intervention
  • Evidence of clinical supervision

Desirable

  • Student clinical educator's course
  • Post-registration behaviour change training
  • Knowledge of paediatric/adolescent nutritional requirements
  • Safeguarding awareness and implementation
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (including Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
  • Awareness of Risk Assessment and Management in practice
Experience

  • Clinical experience of dietetic treatment within mental health services at a senior level
  • Experience of working as part of a clinical team to deliver patient and organisational objectives
  • Broad experience with a range of patients across clinical settings
  • Evidence-based specialist clinical knowledge
  • Experience of organising and delivering training for staff, patients and students
  • Experience in human resource management, supervision and mentoring
