Job summary

A London-based primary school is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils transitioning into the school. The role requires HLTA status or equivalent, and experience with primary-aged pupils. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate. Qualifications

  • HLTA status or equivalent; significant experience.
  • Good general education including GCSE English and Maths grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Evidence of recent professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead support for pupils joining the school outside normal transition points.
  • Provide small-group or one-on-one interventions.
  • Help shape and develop the relevant support roles.

  • Experience maintaining accurate records.

Desirable

  • Experience completing baseline assessments.
  • Experience supporting families who are new to the UK or new to school systems.
  • Experience liaising with inclusion teams or external agencies.
