We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at School Name, a thriving primary school located in the heart of Bury. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

About the Role

As an HLTA at our school, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning. You will work alongside class teachers to deliver high-quality education and will have the confidence and capability to lead whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher. This role requires someone who is flexible, well‑organised, and passionate about helping children achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead whole‑class sessions across a range of subjects and year groups
  • Deliver targeted interventions to support pupils' academic and emotional progress
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including those with SEND
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and assessing learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Provide high‑quality support during lessons and help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the wider school community through extracurricular activities and school events
We are looking for someone who:
  • Holds HLTA status or an equivalent qualification
  • Has recent and relevant experience working in a primary school setting
  • Is confident managing classroom behaviour and leading whole‑class learning
  • Has a good understanding of the primary curriculumi>
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children
