Job summary

A dedicated educational support agency is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a nurturing school in Canterbury starting January. In this full-time, term-time role, you will lead interventions, cover lessons, and support students with diverse needs while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates will have HLTA status or significant experience in a similar role, strong classroom practice, and excellent teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • HLTA status or significant experience working at HLTA level.
  • Experience supporting learners in KS1 and/or KS2.
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small-group interventions and 1:1 support.
  • Deliver planned lessons and cover classes in teacher absence.
  • Support pupils with diverse needs, including SEND.
  • Help plan, prepare and adapt learning materials.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
  • Contribute to a safe, encouraging and inclusive school environment.

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? Academics is delighted to be working with a School in Canterbury, a warm, inclusive and nurturing setting committed to supporting every child to achieve their full potential. The school is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join their team from January.

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in supporting teaching, learning and pupil development across the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading small-group interventions and 1:1 support
  • Delivering planned lessons and covering classes in teacher absence
