Job description
The Role

We are recruiting for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our customer\'s school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children reach their full potential and who enjoys making a real difference in the classroom every day.


As an HLTA, you’ll work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons, lead small group and whole-class sessions, and provide tailored support to pupils who may need additional help. You’ll play a key role in promoting positive learning behaviours, supporting the curriculum, and helping to create a nurturing, inclusive learning environment.



Responsibilities


  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering high-quality learning experiences.

  • Lead lessons or interventions independently, ensuring all pupils are engaged and supported.

  • Provide targeted assistance to pupils with additional learning needs.

  • Contribute to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages learning and confidence.

  • Support with classroom management and organisation, maintaining a safe and stimulating environment.



Skills and experience


  • A qualified HLTA (or equivalent Level 4 qualification).

  • Experienced in supporting teaching and learning across primary or secondary settings.

  • Experienced working with children and young people who have learning differences, disabilities autism and behavioural issues

  • Confident leading small groups or whole classes.

  • Passionate about helping every child succeed, regardless of background or ability.

  • Positive, proactive, and a great team player with excellent communication skills.
