Higher Level Teaching Assistant - Rotherham

Academics, acting as an agency, are recruiting an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant for flexible, temporary ongoing work within a range of supportive and inclusive schools across Rotherham.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HLTA who is passionate about supporting teaching and learning and confident in leading groups or whole‑class sessions when required. Whether you are seeking short‑term supply or longer‑term placements, this role offers excellent flexibility and variety.

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Contract: Flexible working pattern, temporary ongoing

Pay: £90 - £125 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)

Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you

About the Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver high‑quality support across a range of year groups. You may lead learning activities, run interventions, and take responsibility for whole classes in the teacher's absence.

This role is ideal for candidates who hold either a degree or a Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification and are confident supporting pupils across the primary curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons, group interventions and targeted support
• Lead full classes independently when required
• Support teachers with preparation of learning resources
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Provide clear feedback on pupil progress to teachers
