A local primary school in Leatherhead is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teachers and lead small intervention groups. This part-time role offers flexible hours ranging from 3 full days to 5 days a week during term-time. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and experience leading a class without a teacher present. The school values inclusivity and promotes the welfare of all children. Join a welcoming environment dedicated to high standards.
We are a two-form entry junior school, offering a beautiful setting, with excellent facilities, good resources, supportive staff and enthusiastic children. We are committed to inclusive practices, the achievement of high standards and working in close partnership with parents and the community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, well‑organised and experienced HLTA to join our school to support teachers within our mainstream classes and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulty) Centre, running small group interventions and providing PPA cover within the year group as well as class cover across the school. The right candidate will need to have experience of being the lead person in the class without the presence of a teacher.
The hours for this post will ideally be 31.25 hours per week, to be worked over 5 days from 8.30am-3.15pm, however we will consider reducing this commitment for the right candidate. The minimum hours we would consider is 3 full days, and two half days. These hours are worked during term‑time (38.6 weeks per annum).
Oakfield Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
