Job summary

Woodlands Primary School in England is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a caring, committed team and support pupils in Year 5.

The successful candidate will provide teaching cover during PPA and ECT release, work closely with the class teacher, and contribute to high standards of learning and behaviour across the school.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and committed team at Woodlands Primary School.

This vacancy has arisen as we prepare to say goodbye to a much-valued member of our team who is retiring after more than 25 years at Woodlands. We are looking for someone special to join our school community and continue the important contribution this role makes to our children and staff.

The successful candidate will initially be based in Year 5, working alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning. They will also have a regular teaching commitment, including whole-class cover for PPA and ECT release time, as well as planned cover across the school when required.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has HLTA status, or suitable experience and qualifications.
• Is confident leading whole-class teaching and has a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Has experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND.
• Has high expectations for learning and behaviour.
• Is warm, patient and understands the importance of building strong relationships with children.
• Is flexible, organised and enjoys working as part of a team.
