The Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

This is an exciting and critical opportunity for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dynamic secondary academy in Bradford. This permanent role is focused on supporting and leading learning for students, particularly those with SEMH and behavioural needs.

  • Support teachers in creating personalised learning experiences that spark curiosity and progress.
  • Build strong, positive relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and motivated.
  • Work with colleagues and external partners to ensure every child gets the support they deserve.
  • Live out the academy's ethos and 9 Habits, promoting inclusion, respect, and resilience every day.
  • Plan and prepare learning materials and resources under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Supervise and manage classroom behaviour effectively, implementing the school's policy.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, acting as a key mentor.
  • Lead small group and 1:1 sessions focusing on core subjects or specific social skills.
