Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEND Resource Base

Monarch Education are working closeley with a primary school who are seeking an experienced and dedicated HLTA SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality support within our Special Educational Needs (SEND) resource base. This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping pupils with additional needs thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver planned interventions and small group sessions under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including those with EHCPs, ensuring progress towards individual targets.
  • Assist with planning and preparation of learning activities tailored to pupils’ needs.
  • Provide cover for classes when required, maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to implement personalised strategies.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to the teaching team and parents as appropriate.
About You:
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
