We are recruiting for a HLTA

Required for 23rd February 2026

Salary Range £31,537.00 to £34,470.00 per annum (this is FTE, salary will be pro‑rata) Emmaus Grade 7 (Point 18-23)

Term time only plus 5 days (INSET days), 32.50 hours per week Monday to Friday (with 30 minutes lunch)

Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a passionate teaching assistant ready to step up, to make a real difference in children’s education and development. You will work closely with class teachers, support staff, and the school’s leadership team to plan, deliver, and assess high‑quality learning across the primary curriculum. This role will include covering classes during teacher PPA time, SLT management time and supporting targeted interventions.

We are looking for a candidate who has

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience working in a primary school setting, particularly within EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2.
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective behaviour management strategies.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and
  • A positive, proactive, and nurturing approach.
