Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are seeking a dynamic and highly IT-literate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support students through tailored interventions in English, Maths, and Social Communication at St Benedicts College.

Responsibilities
  • Implement personalised strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Customise digital and physical learning resources.
  • Assist in lesson planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and safeguarding team.
Qualifications
  • GCSE qualification grade C/level 5 or above in English and Maths.
  • Holding, or willingness to achieve, the HLTA/L4 Teaching Assistant qualification within 12 months.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of young people.
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
Hours and Pay
  • 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday (term time plus five staff training days for a total of 39 weeks).
  • Standard working hours 08:55 am to 03:30 pm, with one afternoon extended to 04:00 pm.
  • Pay band Scale 5 (SCP 9 to 12): £27,254 to £28,598.
  • Actual inclusive salary: £17,681.66 to £18,553.61 (under 5 years service) or £17,919 to £18,802.65 (over 5 years service).
