Fairways Primary School in Leigh-on-Sea is seeking a Higher Learning Support Assistant to work under the direction of the SENDCo, support learning, assist with preparing and delivering lessons, and provide cover for classes when required. We value enthusiastic, flexible staff with strong communication skills and a good understanding of the primary curriculum.

GCSE English and Maths (4/C or above) are preferred and experience with individuals or small groups is an advantage.

The Role

We are looking for a Higher Learning Support Assistant who can work effectively under the direction of the school SENDCo to support learning, assist with preparing and delivering lessons and help pupils achieve their best. The role may also involve providing cover for classes when required.

The successful candidate will

• Be confident in following planning and delivering lessons to a small group of pupils or a class.

• Be able to engage, inspire and motivate pupils in their learning.
• Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

• Be confident supporting children with a range of learning, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Have experience of working with individuals and small groups.
• Have a good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Be able to work independently using initiative, whilst also working effectively as part of a team.
• Demonstrate a good standard of English and Mathematics (GCSE Grade 4/C or above preferred)
• Maintain a positive outlook and good sense of humour.

Fairways is a two form entry primary school set in extensive beautiful grounds in Leigh on Sea that celebrates individuality, champions potential, and works tirelessly to ensure every pupil feels seen, supported, and valued.
