Higher Education Development Manager

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Newcastle College University Centre (NCUC) is one of the largest providers of higher education in the further education sector. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Education Development Manager to join our central Higher Education team.

In this key role you will:

  • Lead the development and approval of higher education programmes aligned with strategic priorities and industry needs.
  • Oversee curriculum design and ensure compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage key aspects of the HE activity cycle.
  • Support programme teams to maintain high standards in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Support programme teams to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
  • Support programme teams to drive student success and maximise achievement across all programmes.
  • Deliver a range of training and support to higher education teaching teams.
  • Manage the process for recruitment of external examiners and programme approval academics.
  • Manage the process for student and staff ethical approval.
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff, students and external partners to enhance the HE student experience.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the HE strategy and continuous improvement across NCUC.

About You:

You will have experience teaching or managing higher education within a further education context, with a strong understanding of HE quality assurance, curriculum design and regulatory frameworks. You will be an excellent communicator and leader capable of supporting and developing staff to achieve high standards.
