Job description
Responsibilities
  • Utilise engineering drawings, data and documentation to undertake design, evaluation, measuring, diagnosing & verification of technical performance on a wide range of mechanical, electrical and electronic assemblies and components within our complex maritime and land based radar products.
  • This covers radio frequency transmit and receive modules, power regulators, control boards and other bespoke assemblies.
  • Gain knowledge and expertise in a wide range of common and specialist design, measuring and diagnostic tools and testing equipment to follow a technical specification and process ensuring components and assemblies meet required parameters.
Qualifications
  • Level 4 Apprenticeship Certificate Engineering (Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard) OR Higher National Certificate in Engineering.
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9‑4/A‑C including Maths & English & a Science/Technical subject OR 3 A‑levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above with Maths and one Engineering or Science/Technical subject OR an equivalent Level 3 vocational qualification of at least 96 UCAS points.
Training & Placement

The first three months of your apprenticeship will be spent undertaking initial engineering, health and safety training in the Skills Development Centre located in Portsmouth Naval Base. Upon successful completion you will transfer to our manufacturing site at Cowes, Isle of Wight.
