Responsibilities
- Work across finance teams while studying for a CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
- Gain communication, analysis and problem‑solving skills through role rotations.
- Access study support, mentoring and tailored development.
- Apply accounting principles and legislation to ensure records are accurate and compliant when delivering financial accounting for single entities, limited companies, partnerships or management accounting activities.
- Apply professional scepticism in accounting activities to inform decision‑making on the content of true and fair accounts, detect potential misstatement due to error or fraud, and remain aware of unconscious bias.
- Interpret financial information using judgement to report transactions correctly and conduct ratio analysis.
- Participate in or support quality improvement activities, e.g., improving personal working practices.
- Use software packages for accounting tasks while meeting cyber and data security requirements, including secure data handling and backup.
- Deliver accounting tasks with a critical eye to transactions and trends, demonstrating a 'right first time' approach.
- Plan, organise, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively using workload management principles.
- Use accounting information to add value through data visualisations, analysis and interpretation, and communicate financial data in a way that facilitates understanding for non‑finance stakeholders.
- Communicate accounting information via multiple media to ensure stakeholders understand requirements, considering the risks and benefits of social media and other digital applications.
- Build and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, recognising the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications & Skills
- Open to A‑level (or equivalent) holders with motivation to grow.
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) with grades A–C or 9–4 (or equivalent).
- 3 A‑levels, such as Maths and Engineering or Technical, with 96 UCAS points and a grade of C or above.
- Communication skills.
- Organisation skills.
- Team working abilities.
- Apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect existing knowledge and experience.
